Quote of the Week
Dhritarashtra said:  Assembled on the field of Dharma,
O Sanjaya, on the field of the Kurus, eager to fight,
what did my people and the Pandavas do?
Bhagavad-Gita 1.1

Commentary:  This is the opening verse of the Bhagavad-Gita (song of Lord Krishna), the perennial dialog between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, which comprises the sixth book--the Bhishma Parva (chapters 23-40)--of the Mahabharata.  Sanjaya, the clairvoyant and clairaudient narrator of the Gita, is updating Dhritarashtra the blind king of the Kuru dynasty on the battle that is about to take place in his territory Kurukshetra the field of Dharma (the force of Nature that guides evolution)  The conflict is between the Kuruvas army, and that of their cousins the Pandavas, over are the rightful rulers of the kingdom.  This dramatic situation has been orchestrated by Lord Krishna to awaken the world to a better way of life and provide the means to accomplish this in the narrative of the Gita itself.
