Commentary: The seers of ultimate reality are the wise ones who know (intellectually and experientially) the difference between the real and the unreal. The unreal is that which is apparent to our senses but which has no permanent reality, like a passing cloud. Simply stated, our entire apparent three dimensional ever-changing sensual reality is unreal! This apparent reality gives rise to our everyday dualistic experiences all of which Krishna recommends "...bear them patiently O Bharata" simply because they have no lasting reality. What is left apart from our sensual experiences is what is truly real, and that is our witness consciousness, our Higher Self, or our divine beingness. This beingness alone is what is true, unchanging, immortal, stable and dependable. A Course in Miracles (ACIM) in its preface, expresses in three sentences this foundational idea as the summation of its entre teaching: Nothing real can be threatened threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. Knowing this is what makes one a seer of ultimate reality, and allows one to live in wholeness and evenness, celebrating the diversity of the unreal while remaining established in the underlying all-pervading unity of the real.

American actor Phillip Vanderploeg (Branden Fraser) lives in Tokyo and constantly searches for work following his success in a toothpaste commercial seven years earlier. He is stuck taking minor roles until being hired by Rental Family, a company that provides actors to play stand-in family members and friends for strangers. Initially reluctant due to its absurd premise, Phillip, desperate for funds, accepts after the company's owner, Shinji (Takehiro Hira), insists that they need a "token white guy".
