Quote of the Week

This verse describes the characteristics of an enlightened being first, only then does it provide the means to become established in this state; the order of the process is important.  It first gives a clear vision of what is typical of one who is enlightened, namely:  having little attachment or aversion to any situation, a steady intellect, and freedom from delusion.  From this vision, it then provides all that is needed to attain this state, which is to know Brahman (All-That-Is) both intellectually and experientially, thus will you be "established in Brahman", and naturally engender these characteristics.  Trying to acquire these characteristics first is equivalent to putting the proverbial cart before the horse!
