This
movie is a wonderful, poignant, graphic, serious and humorous look at
what our higher human potential might look like. It explores by example
what we as humans could be and do when we are willing to step past the
mental blocks, accidentally or deliberately, that limits us to just what
we can experience through our five senses, and to what we accept as
"real" or possible in our experience. Getting past these mental blocks
is simply a matter of changing our minds about what we believe, but is
is not an easy trick to accomplish because of our long held beliefs
about the world and our primal attachment to what our senses tell us is
"real." We would rather suffer insult and injury in the defense of our
beliefs rather than calmly and objectively examine and question them
especially when they lead us to false, irrational, and often painful
conclusions, but it is through such honest, objective examinations, that
we can modify our beliefs as necessary to bring them more in accord
with a higher wisdom about ourselves and our environment. This movie
provides the insights we need to begin this glorious journey towards a
higher, "more perfect" experience of ourselves and everything else.
I'll leave you with two quotes from this movie that indicate its depth,
and a reminder that any movie brave enough to meaningfully ponder these
topics is well worth its salt, and well worth seeing, repeatedly:
"...everything is on its way to somewhere."
"...everything that we need is already in us."
....Hope to see you
there.

"The Whole of Existence Is Your Sangha" by
Shri Mooji
Anthony Paul Moo-Young, known as Mooji, was born on 29 January 1954
in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Mooji is a direct disciple of Sri Harilal Poonja, the
renowned advaita master, or Papaji. Since 1999, Mooji has been sharing satsang in the form of
spontaneous encounters, retreats, satsang intensives and one-to-one
meetings with the many seekers who visit him, from all parts of the
world, in search of the direct experience of truth. Few amongst the
modern teachers of the advaita tradition expound the 'knowledge of
Self', and the method of self-enquiry, with such dazzling clarity, love
and authority. His style is direct, clear, compassionate
and often humorous.

A Silent Meditation Retreat
at
Lead by: Dr. Charles Goodman
This residential, silent meditation retreat will focus on the immeasurable emotions of lovingkindness and joy. These profound and beautiful states can deeply enrich our practice and our life, even as they strengthen our commitment to work for the benefit of others.
We will learn several practical, effective techniques for connecting with the actual experience of lovingkindness and joy. We will also explore the nature of these emotions and their role in Buddhist practice through the teachings of Shantideva and other spiritual masters.
Raja Yoga Class and Satsang
Raja
Yoga is the royal yoga that brings the nature of our True Self to our
awareness. This awareness cannot be gained through perception or
intellectual knowledge, it can only be known through cognition, like the
knowledge that I am, that I exist, it needs no proof, but without this
knowing, experience remains limited and misunderstood. Come join us as
we explore our True Self through:
Silence, Meditation, Breathing, and gentle relaxing Postures.
