Quote of the Week
"These bodies are known to have an end; the Dweller within the body is eternal, imperishable, infinite. Therefore O'Bharata (Arjuna) fight!"
Bhagavad-Gita 2.18
Commentary: In this verse Lord Krishna states an empirical fact of physical life, that "bodies are known to have an end;" in contrast to the physical truth that "the Dweller within the body is eternal, imperishable , infinite." This Dweller is the animating force that pervades all entities within Creation. Lord Kirshna is using the word 'within' as a means to facilitate our understanding of the comparison between the dying body and the undying Self, between the ever-changing physical and the eternally unchanging Spirit; between the temporal and the immortal. That which is eternal is beyond time; that which is imperishable cannot be changed in the slightest; and that which is infinite has no limitation or boundary it is quite literally everything. If indeed we could realize our infinite identity we would loose all sense of fear and concern over the inevitable loss of the body. Only then would we know true freedom.

One of my all-time favorite movies! Not only is the acting excellent, but the story line addresses some very fundamental topics such as: our origins, life and the after life, God, evolution, the value of scientific evidence, and more, not with a lot of complicated jargon, but with clear logic and a layperson's perspective that is easily understandable and relatable. The story is brilliant, original, beautiful and captivating, all that you could ask for from a feel-good movie.
Hope to see you there! ☺
