Raja Yoga and Satsang

Raja Yoga is the royal yoga that brings the nature of our True Self to our awareness.  This awareness cannot be gained through perception or intellectual knowledge, it can only be known through cognition, like the knowledge that I am, that I exist, it needs no proof, but without this knowing, the experience remains limited and misunderstood.  Come join us as we explore our True Self through:

Vishnu's Couch Yoga Studio presents
Group Meditation and Satsang Retreat
Sunday, Sept 22nd
From 1:00 - 4:00pm
at
61 Prospect Ave. 4th Floor
Binghamton, NY 13901

Meditation is the most effective means for significant beneficial change in our lives and in the world, simply because it facilitates access to the deeper layers of our true Self--the source of our being.  And since practicing in groups significantly increases the effects (see research), please take advantage of this opportunity to dive deeper and marinate longer in the blissful silence of meditation.

The day will consist mostly of sitting meditation punctuated by:
walking meditation, relaxation, sound meditation, pranayama, gentle asanas, Satsang, and a light vegan Soup-du-jour.

Join-in at any time;
stay for as long as you would like and
invite your friends along; the more the merrier!

Donations welcomed

Vishnu's Couch is pleased to present:
Poetry Night
Friday, October 11th at 8:00pm
Featuring:
Writer/Poet Gwendolyn Zimmerman
Gwendolyn Zimmerman is a poet who lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She has studied under Craig Czury for two years and recently has facilitated readings and workshops with poet and publisher Michael Czarnecki. Their influence in her life was the catalyst of her poetic journey.

In her latest work "Resonanceavailable here, Gwen’s life experience vulnerably flows through these pages of poetry.  An intimate amalgamation of trials, tribulation, optimism and intense self observation coalesce into a work of transcendence.  While illuminating daily occurrences as inextricably wound to sacred conscious-ness, she lovingly acknowledges the light that dwells within each one of us, waiting to be discovered, to ignite the soul fire and share it with others as we search for our life’s purpose.
