Raja Yoga and Satsang

Raja Yoga is the royal yoga that brings the nature of our True Self to our awareness.  This awareness cannot be gained through perception or intellectual knowledge, it can only be known through cognition, like the knowledge that I am, that I exist, it needs no proof, but without this knowing, the experience remains limited and misunderstood.  Come join us as we explore our True Self through:
Silence, Meditation, Breathing, and gentle relaxing Postures.

at the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) building
1595 Route 26, Vestal NY

A group sing followed by sharing and discussion.
Sunday March 18th.
from 4:30 - 6:00pm

In the Parlor Room

HU is an ancient name for God that can be sung quietly or aloud in prayer.  HU has existed since the beginning of time i one form or another, and is available to all regardless of religion.  It is a pure way to give love to God and give thanks for your blessings.

Singing HU (HUUUUUU, pronounced HUE) serves as a tuning fork with spirit that brings you into greater harmony with the divine.  We recommend singing HU a few minutes each day to bring Love, Joy, Peace and Clarity, or when upset or fearful, to rise to a higher view of the situation.

from Noon - 6:00pm.
at
61 Prospect Ave. 4th Floor
Binghamton, NY 13901

Seeing that meditation is the most effective means for significant beneficial change in our lives and in the world, simply because it improves the functioning of our most important tool--the brain, and because it is the easiest to implement, we offer this opportunity to dive deeper and marinate longer in the blissful silence of meditation.

The day will consist mostly of sitting meditation punctuated by:
rest, relaxation, sound meditation, pranayama, gentle asanas, Satsang, walking meditation, and a light vegan Soup-du-jour.

Join in at any time and stay for as long as you would like.

Donations Welcomed

Promotion to show the following film in Binghamton
Mantra: Sounds Into Silence
Monday, April 30th at 7:30pm
SYNOPSIS:
A feature-length documentary, exploring the new music and social phenomenon of chanting, MANTRA – Sounds into Silence shares the stories of people who are finding healing and a sense of inner peace by singing mantras together with others just like them. It’s a film about spirituality, not religion, it’s about people reconnecting with their true selves and with others.

As our characters’ stories about their connection to the music unfold, we meet the musicians who have inspired them and brought them together. Through these encounters, we will discover how Snatam Kaur, Deva Premal & Miten, Krishna Das, Lama Gyurme, Jai Uttal and MC Yogi, amongst others, came to this music themselves and to the practice of Kirtan, and how, over the years, it transformed their lives too.
