Quote of the Week

Commentary:   "Intent on Yoga" means intent on Union with the Divine, for this is the goal of Yoga, to allow the body, mind, intellect, and even the senses to naturally ascend to the state of non-attachment or stillness, where it is in harmony with the purity of our Higher Self or Soul.   And this is accomplished by first allowing the mind to naturally experience its inherent state of peace and stillness by transcending the activity of the entire physical world:  "Be Still and know that I am God".  Once the mind becomes used to experiencing this transcendental state, it naturally becomes firmly established in it, even when engaged in the physical activity of the world.  Thus, in time, the self (ego) is mastered, the senses are conquered, and the ego-self becomes the Self of all beings.  This is the state of Union with the Divine (Brahman).

Quote of the Week
Even here in this life, the universe is conquered by those whose minds are established in equanimity.  Flawless indeed and equally present everywhere is Brahman (God,) therefore they are established in Brahman. 
Bhagavad-Gita 5.19

Commentary:   "Those whose minds are established in equanimity" are the ones who recognize and live the truth that they are united with their Creator, and therefore with the entire Creation.  They are the ones who delight only in their Beingness; who are content in their Beingness, who rejoice only in their Beingness; for them there is nothing they need do, for their Beingness already accomplishes everything!  Neither do they have any profit to gain in this life from the things they have done or from the things they have not done; nor is there any living creature on whom they need rely for any purpose.  They have no attachment to anything and so they have attained the Supreme Brahman, i.e., they see all things in Brahman, and Brahman in all things.  This is the great benefit of a mind established in equanimity.

News:   VFP, PA & friends challenged Sheriff Akshar to remove the Israeli flag that was flying above the jail.  Within 6 days it was removed.  A small group of committed people accomplished this.  Imagine what we can accomplish as we work together!
