Quote of the Week
"With the exception of actions performed for yagya (enlightenment) this world is in bondage to action.  For the sake of yagya, engage in action free from attachment."
Bhagavad-Gita 3.9

Commentary:  "Yagya" is any action that facilitates our path to enlightenment or the awareness of our divine union; it is action that leads to freedom, and away from the bondage of action.  The performance of any action always results in some form of either:  attachment, aversion, or neutrality; yagya is action that promotes a neutral state which is closer to our primeval or original state of creation.  To "engage in actions free from attachment or aversion" is to perform actions that engender the awareness of our original state of divinity, our state of being:  perfect, Spirit, free!  These include the joyful expressions of:  meditation, prayer, chanting, service, and anything that reminds us of our true divine nature.

June 20th - 22nd 2025

Quote of the Week
As the unwise act out of their attachment to action O Bharata, so should the wise act, but without attachment, desiring the welfare of the world.
Bhagavad-Gita 3.25

Commentary: "The wise" are they who know that in physical reality actions are in every case performed by the gunas (forces or laws) of Nature--BG 3.27.  They are therefore attached neither to their own actions nor to the actions of others, for they know that the entire field of activity is written, scripted, directed, and enacted by the Creator with us as co-creators, each playing the role we agreed to play in the drama of physical life.  Just as the producer of a movie co-creates with the help of:  writers, director, actors, and everyone else needed for the production of a movie.  Everyone involved is hired for their unique talents and skills.  Each gains the benefit of the unique perspective and experience associated with their particular role, so that each can better understand through personal experience their true nature as one with everything, thus the welfare of the world improves.  Shakespeare was right, Life is indeed a stage!
