Quote of the Week
Even here in this life, the universe is conquered by those whose minds are established in equanimity.  Flawless indeed and equally present everywhere is Brahman (God,) therefore they are established in Brahman.
Bhagavad-Gita 5.19

Commentary:   "Those whose minds are established in equanimity" are the ones who recognize and live the truth that they are united with their Creator, and therefore with the entire Creation.  They are the ones who delight only in their Beingness; who are content in their Beingness, who rejoice only in their Beingness; for them there is nothing they need do, for their Beingness already accomplishes everything!  Neither do they have any profit to gain in this life from the things they have done or from the things they have not done; nor is there any living creature on whom they need rely for any purpose.  They have no attachment to anything and so they have attained the Supreme Brahman, i.e., they see all things in Brahman, and Brahman in all things.  This is the great benefit of a mind established in equanimity.

Quote of the Week
Conscious association allows us to imbibe the qualities and characteristics of the thing we associate with. This concept is expressed in the saying Birds of a feather flock together.  Even in the material sense, association with fire makes an object hot; association with ice makes it cold. Therefore conscious association with the Divine allows one to become conscious of one's inherent divinity.  Divinity is inherent in us, but conscious association allows for what is inherent to become apparent

Quote of the Week
"i Choose the Joy of God Instead of Pain"
It is your thoughts alone that cause you pain.  Nothing external to your mind can hurt or injure you in any way.  There is no cause beyond yourself that can reach down and bring oppression.  No one but yourself affects you.  There is nothing in the world that has the power to make you ill or sad, or weak or frail.  But it is you who have the power to dominate all things you see by merely recognizing what you are.  As you perceive the harmlessness in them, they will accept your holy will as theirs.  And what was seen as fearful now becomes a source of innocence and holiness.

Commentary:  This is an important point to remember:  That we have the freedom to choose what we experience based on our thoughts.  Our thoughts, feelings, perspectives, speech, and actions all naturally arise from what we believe, and our beliefs are simply the thoughts we hold dear as absolute and unequivocal truths.  If we believe we are victims then that is what we will experience, but just as easily, if we believe that we are the holy children of God then that is how we will experience our lives.  We each have the power to choose, and as we choose, so we experience.  Knowing this allows us to begin to make better choices, choosing joy more often and consistently within the context of the theme of our life purpose in this physical dream we call reality.  In the iconic words of the He-man comic book character:  "I have the power!"

A deep sea oil rig and its crew are commandeered to help the Navy investigate the crash of an American nuclear submarine and salvage the wreckage ahead of an oncoming storm.  But they do not only find the crashed sub, they also come into contact with an intelligent life form that opens up their awareness of what is possible.  My favorite line from the movie is "...we have to look with better eyes." when confronted with unknown phenomenon.
