Quote of the Week
"Our definition of happiness cannot include anything that diminishes happiness."
To clarify our understanding of a particular state of being it is important to remember that, by definition, it cannot include states of being that are contradictory. Happiness for instance cannot include things that are contrary or opposed to happiness; unconditional love cannot include things that are conditional nor antithetical to loving, etc. And this principle applies to all states of being, without exception. If we include contradictory elements in our definitions they will lead to contradictory experiences. We cannot get to happiness on the path of pain or suffering; we cannot arrive at peace through war; nor can we experience contentment through our attachments. So let us pay close attention to keeping our definitions pure, and free of contradictions, for our definitions are the foundation for our experiences.
